New Beers, New Food

If you haven't already tried it, last Friday saw the return of the Rogue Imperial IPA, a must for all hopheads. This week we're bringing back two of the Cafe regulars, Purple Haze & Widmer Hefeweizen; we thought you guys didn't care about these beers any more but as soon as they were gone it was clear that was a mistake.

This Friday, March 30th, we're introducing more than a couple new beers. Belhaven Scottish Ale replaces Boddingtons on the nitro tap, Lienenkugel Sunset Wheat checks in for the Dinkel Acker CD Pils, and Stone's Arrogant Bastard Ale steps in for Strongbow Cider.

Other beers coming soon include Redhook Copperhook, Rogue Black Brutal Bitter, Legend Doppelbock, Starr Hill IPA and the return of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

And what goes with new beers better than new food. In early April we're unveiling our new menu. I don't want to give too much away right now but some highlights include half price wings on Wednesday late nights, a REAL REUBEN with rye, corned beef and everything and a larger selection of wraps. Check back soon for more details.

St. Patrick's Day Weekend

William & Mary may still be on spring break but things are still going strong with the Green Leafe. Green Leafe Catering will be at the Walsingham Garden Show & Auction Gala this weekend with a sampling of our menu including crab cake sandwiches, caesar salad, peppercorn beef tenderloin kabobs & much more. Back at the Cafe we stocked up on Guiness & Jameson's for the weekend revelers and brought back Ireland's own Smithwick's Ale for a brief engagement to help celebrate the holiday. Plus, chef Adonis Conner & his staff will be whipping up some traditional Irish fare on Saturday including corned beef & cabbage, sheppard's pie & a delectable apple oatmeal crisp dressed with irish cream whiskey.

Next time you're in the Cafe pick up your copy of the Leafe-Let. It's our newsletter informing our friends of news & events relating to both the Green Leafe and the Williamsburg community. Speaking of Green Leafe news, get ready because the Green Leafe Gourmet opens in Newtown on April 23rd.

Draft news:

Our Cafe staples continue to lead the way but make sure to stop by for some interesting lagers & ales if you haven't already.

Rogue brewing of Portland contacted the Green Leafe Cafe to join their "John's Locker Stock" program. We all know Rogue has mastered the classic beer styles but John Maier, Rogue's brewmaster, loves to experiment and through the program only a hdnfull of taverns across the country are allowed to carry his eclectic creations. Right now the Green Leafe Cafe is serving up the Charlie Anniversary Ale and Monk Madness, a belgian style tripel with five hop varieties that goes well with spicy foods or strong cheeses. Coming very soon is the return of John's Imperial IPA, a favortie amongst Cafe staff & regulars.

For those unaware, Williamsburg once again has brewing outside the giant building next to the amusement park. Williamsburg Alewerks opened last year off of Mooretown Road and the Green Leafe Cafe is happy to keep a rotating selection from their brews. Right now guests are enjoying the Tavern Ale and soon we'll see the return of Alewerks' Chesapeke Pale Ale. Plus you can always try at least five of their varieties in the bottle.
